The 2024 Nissan Ariya is a modern take on what Nissan brings to the EV market. The Ariya is only the second EV from this brand, but many more should be coming.

Nissan brings a unique approach to EV with this SUV. It has everything required in the automotive market along with the customization and variety necessary to make it a great choice. There are nine different trims across the lineup, giving the Ariya an excellent feature-filled lineup.

Let’s take a look at some of the things you should know about the Nissan Ariya, especially if you might consider driving it.

Recognizable Nissan design elements

If you admire the style of the gas-powered Nissan SUV lineup, you’ll be glad to see much of the styling elements make it to this electric SUV. The front end has the signature V-motion grille with the Nissan logo in the middle. This grille has narrow headlights and daytime running lights on both sides to complete the overall look of this impressive electric SUV. The side profile is smooth and shows a sloping roofline that brings the roof to the rear in a sporty manner.

A new platform means more EVs are coming

The Nissan Ariya rides on the CMF-EV platform, which is shared with Renault. This versatile platform could signal additional Nissan EVs. This means the Ariya is just the beginning of what we’ll have from this brand in the EV world. The CMF-EV platform provides a low center of gravity and near-equal front-to-rear weight distribution, making this SUV feel great when you head out for a drive on any road. The flat floor is a huge benefit, giving passengers more room inside the cabin.

Plenty of power for every drive

When you look at the base model of the Ariya, you won’t have maximum power, but this version still gives you 238 horsepower from a single electric motor driving the front wheels. When you move up to the more powerful versions, you’ll have two electric motors and up to 389 horsepower for the drive. This means the Ariya can quickly reach 60 mph, making this SUV an exciting choice when you’re ready to enjoy a great ride.

The bigger battery provides more range

If you want to enjoy a Nissan Ariya with the most driving range, you’ll need to choose a model at higher trim levels with the dual-motor layout and larger battery pack. This setup gives you up to 304 miles of driving range, making it easy to enjoy a useful range in this Nissan electric SUV. The smaller battery and single-motor layout only gives you 216 miles of driving range, which is barely acceptable by today’s standards. Which version of this Nissan electric SUV will you drive?

Several trims for various configurations

The Ariya comes in six trims, five of which can be had with FWD. Four of these FWD trims are also offered with an AWD option. The top trim is only offered with AWD. These trims are:

  • Engage (FWD only)
  • Venture+
  • Evolve+
  • Empower+
  • Premiere
  • Platinum (AWD only)

The electric AWD system for the Nissan EV lineup is called e-4ORCE, which is a pretty cool and fancy name for such a feature. This means you’ll have nine different ways to enjoy this Nissan electric SUV.

You’ll find lots of cargo space

The Nissan Ariya features plenty of cargo space in the rear for the stuff you need to take with you. This SUV has 22.8 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. When these seats are folded, this space measures 59.7 cubic feet. There’s a manual liftgate on the lower trims of this electric SUV, but a power, hands-free liftgate is available on higher trims. These figures don’t make the Ariya the most spacious EV in its class, but it has plenty of room for your stuff.

Nissan packs in the safety

The Ariya has plenty of impressive safety features in the standard package. Nissan is well-known for providing impressive, advanced safety features in its vehicles. Some of the standard items included are:

  • Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Blind-spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane departure warning
  • High beam assist
  • Rear automatic braking

If you move to higher trims, you’ll find the Nissan ProPILOT 2.0 system which bring semi-autonomous driving in to the mix. This system includes hands-free driving and radar cruise control to help you relax during your ride.

Will you choose the 2024 Nissan Ariya and enjoy the drive? Which trim makes the most sense to you?
