Sports cars cost a lot because they give you a lot to enjoy during your drive. That said, we have seven models that aren’t worth the money.

Owners pay high prices to enjoy only slight improvements in sprint times and lap times at the track. That said, Some of the cars that ask for large sums of money don’t match the price tags with the desired level of performance. Some of the names on this list will surprise you, while others won’t. Let’s dig in and see which models are the most disappointing.

Vector M12 – $128,000

You might have never heard of the Vector M12. This odd car was based on the Lamborghini Diablo and came with American and Italian influences. Vector and Lamborghini were both owned by Megatech, an Indonesian company when the M12 was produced. This car has a W8 setup and was one of the most advanced of its time. Still, it was created from lawsuits, brought Lamborghini internal elements, and an incredibly strange origin story. Unless you must have a Vector in your car collection, this car isn’t worth the money.

Lamborghini Espada – $113,000

The Lamborghini Espada has to be one of the ugliest sports cars ever to hit the market. This car brings a 2 + 2 configuration with ample room for rear passengers to enjoy the ride. The trunk of this car is spacious, making it a great choice for a family weekend of fun. The V12 engine is impressive and plenty powerful, but it is still impossible to get past the pure ugliness of this Lamborghini. It looks a lot like the brand forgot how to make cars. The price of an Espada is way too high for how strange this car looks.

Ferrari 348 – $72,900

It’s not often that we see a Ferrari for less than $100,000, which might be enough to make this car worth the money to you. Still, the 348 was such an oddity that it’s the forgotten car from this brand. The 348 replaced the F355 and did so terribly. The reputation of poor build quality, unreliable driving, and cheap parts makes this car one of the worst you can buy. Even though this could be the bargain Ferrari, it’s not worth your time or money.

DeLorean DMC-12 – $46,600

DeLorean is making a comeback with a new electric sports car, but that doesn’t make up for the awful sports car that is the DMC-12. Yes, this is the time machine from the Back to the Future franchise, but that notoriety aside, this car was terrible from the start. The car was made with some good ideas but poor application with the slow and underpowered V6 engine that did nothing more than drink gas. It’s nearly impossible to keep this car running, and it’s certainly not worth your time or money.

Mitsuoka Orochi – $90,300

Another odd car that you’ve never heard of is the Mitsuoka Orochi. This car is based on the Honda NSX but takes design to a whole new level. The horrific exterior makes this car hard to live with and not something anyone should buy. That said, the NSX underpinnings make this car relatively reliable, but the Orochi isn’t a good car at all. If you want strange cars in your collection, you’ll need to pay a lot to have this awful car.

Lamborghini Urraco – $55,400

The Lamborghini Urraco is an attractive sports car, which is a good start. This car has a 2 + 2 configuration, which is good for four people to ride along, but it wasn’t very good when it came out into the real world. This sports car was made to be affordable, but that led to an underpowered engine that meant owners had less than 250 horsepower in a Lamborghini shell. That’s just not good enough at all.

Ferrari Mondial – $35,700

Another cheap Ferrari is also a car that’s not worth spending any money on at all. The Mondial brings a mid-engine 2 + 2 configuration along with being the ugly duckling of the Ferrari family. This car has a reputation for being slow, boring, and expensive to maintain. You can get this car for a small price, but it’s not worth that amount unless it’s the missing piece to your collection of Ferrari sports cars.
