The 2024 Upgrades

GMC has put together some upgrades for the 2024 calendar year that are going to make this truck even more awesome. For starters, consumers will have the choice of a different powertrain option. What was once a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine achieving 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, is now a Duramax Turbo-Diesel monster. The Turbo-diesel will have all the torque you will ever need, making scaling those steep inclines way easier. But what is this Duramax engine?

The 6.6L DURAMAX TURBO-DIESEL V8 is a GMC specialty engine specifically for those who prefer diesel engines. Diesel engines provide drivers with more power and oomph. This engine, which you can find in the GMC Sierra Heavy Duty, 2023 Sierra 1500 and the 2023 Yukon gets 445 hp and 910 lb.-ft of torque. Yes, that is not a typo, the Duramaz turbo gets 910 lb.-ft of torque!

Off-Roading Upgrades

The GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X is getting some upgrades for 2024 that are going to help the truck even more in its off-roading excursions. This is important because it is GMC’s goal to rival car brands such as Jeep and Toyota. Stop by your new GMC Dealer to get yours today!

The upgrades include new skid plates and new software-driven terrain management systems. This is going to help the AT4X be safer and more impressive on the mountains and in the mud. Off-roading experts appreciate these types of upgrades because it opens up new possibilities while keeping them safe.

All About That Diesel

When it comes to upgrades and getting as much out of these vehicles as you can, it really is all about the diesel. The Duramax engine has a lot to offer. The diesel option is going to have way more hp and a ton more torque. Diesel has a bad rap for burning fuel a lot fast, so GMC has been taking some notes. For the 2023 and 2024 models, it is estimated that the car will get 23 mpg, which is pretty good for an off-roading truck.
