There’s nothing like the trio of Super Duty trucks offered by Ford. These trucks offer the premier work-truck experience with a full range of powertrains. Drivers are pretty used to seeing these heavy-duty pickups at job sites across the country.

Drivers aren’t used to seeing a prototype out in the wild for something new and impressive. The 2023 Ford F-350 has been spotted, and it’s raising excitement levels around the world. Here’s what we know so far:

Following The Path of the F-150

One tell-tale sign that changes are coming to a Super Duty like the Ford F-350 is when Ford updates its flagship F-150 pickup truck. Based on what we’ve seen so far with the F-150, some amazing things are coming our way. That means the F-350 should see some new engine options along with some styling upgrades.

Of course, when a prototype is seen out in the wild, it’s usually covered in camouflage. That means it’s not always easy to pick apart all of the details, but that doesn’t mean Ford F-350 enthusiasts won’t try.

Rigid and Light

The 2023 Ford F-350 will continue with the modern aluminum and HSS body. That means it’s lighter than other trucks in this class but doesn’t sacrifice an ounce of strength. The end result is a pickup truck that can handle the demands of the modern job site with a more rigid build and better fuel economy.

All of the current expectations are that they F-350 won’t see too many surprises in the engine department. Most drivers won’t complain as the current powertrain options are more than enough for every chore in the book.

  • 6.2-liter V8 engine with 386 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque
  • 7.3-liter V8 with 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque (nicknamed Godzilla)
  • Power Strike V8 turbodiesel that pushes 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of towque

When properly equipped, this beast can tow up to 37,000 pounds. There’s a rumor that Ford engineers are looking for a way to increase that number.

A Fresh Interior

Some of the most anticipated upgrades seem to take place in the F-350’s cabin. The pressure is on Ford to keep up with the attractive looks found on the newly upgraded Ram 3500. We expect plenty of interior space, regardless of which cabin you choose.

Most Ford fans are looking forward to seeing what kinds of tech will appear in the new F-350. Ford is already known for cutting-edge technology, so it’s hard to even imagine what’s possible. The current Ford F-150 should provide some clues as to what kinds of options should be available.

We expect some version of the following tech upgrades:

  • Two-panel moonroof
  • Power up-and-down tailgate
  • Massing front seats
  • Upgraded B&O audio system with 18+ speakers
  • Heated seats throughout
  • Upodated trailer tow camera system
  • And more
  • The real question is whether Ford equips the F-350 with its semi-autonomous driving system called Active Drive Assist. With more vehicles opting to make this kind of feature available, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see upper-level trims come with this option.

    The Future Is Looking Bright

While we don’t expect to see the full details of the 2023 Ford F-350 until later in 2022, it’s an exciting time to see what’s coming out of Detroit. Keep your eyes on your local Ford dealer to learn more.
