2021 F-150 XL vs XLT

The XL is the entry-level F-150, and it’s well-equipped with Ford’s updated Sync infotainment system that offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features on the base trim include automatic emergency braking and high-beam headlights. The new gas-electric hybrid engine is available as an option on the base trim as well. Is it worth it to move up to the XLT with so many base features?

Well, the XLT offers even more options like a 12-inch touchscreen and an eight-speaker audio system. The main difference between the XLT and the XL is that there are more options available on the XLT.

2021 F-150 Lariat

The Lariat trim of the 2021 F-150 makes the 12-inch touchscreen a standard feature, and it also opens up an even bigger menu of options, which includes Ford Active Drive Assist and an 18-speaker audio system. The Active Drive Assist feature offers intuitive systems to allow for hands-free driving, including adaptive cruise control, lane-centering, and interior cameras. This trim is a nice compromise of features and value in the mid-level trims before moving up to the top trims. 2021 Ford F-150 King Ranch vs Platinum

Before reaching the very top trim of the F-150, you’ll have to consider the 2021 Ford F-150 King Ranch vs Platinum trims. Both of these trims are high-end with luxury cabins that can outdo many actual luxury cars and SUVs on the market. In the King Ranch trim, you’ll find Ford’s comfortable MaxRecline seats that recline all the way back to make a sleeping space in the cabin.

Other niceties in the King Ranch trim include heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, an eight-speaker sound system as the standard, a wireless device charger, and a navigation system. The Platinum trim has an MSRP that is only about $3,000 more than the King Ranch. What will you get if you move up? One of the most significant upgrades is the 20-inch wheels vs. the King Ranch’s 18-inch wheels. It also adds massaging front seats, power-deployed running boards, and a traffic sign recognition system.

The similarity between these trims and the small price jump makes it a hard choice. However, if you don’t need the Platinum features mentioned above, you could use your extra budget to get the Chrome Package on the King Ranch, which adds the bigger wheels and gives the truck a unique appearance.

2021 Ford F-150 Limited

If you decide to go all out and get the F-150’s top trim, you’ll be enjoying Active Drive Assist as standard equipment as well as 22-inch wheels among many other standard features and available options. Getting the Limited’s huge array of standard features also requires a big jump in price from the Platinum and King Ranch trims.
