The Hyundai Ioniq has been around just long enough to make changes and updates and poke jabs at some of the competition which don’t have a model on the market that competes with the Ioniq. Does it seem to be a bit self-indulgent for Hyundai to gloat against some of the other brands when showing that they have some updates ready to be offered for the Ioniq? Of course it does, but it certainly allows us to enjoy what this car and the brand that carries it can bring to the market for our admiration.

Three Versions for the Drive

The Hyundai Ioniq has become the first-ever eco-friendly model from the band to give us more of what we want in a vehicle that can save more fuel. This is a car that’s offered in the Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid models that we’ve admired for the first couple of years with the new Ioniq Electric being offered in the next few months. This trio of vehicles that will give us the ability to have a Hyundai that can save fuel and enjoy the package of features makes it easy for the brand to have the bragging rights they want to enjoy.

How are the Hybrid Models being Upgraded

The 2019 versions of the Ioniq will feature a new grill to give the vehicle lineup an excellent look and feel when you see them. There’s also going to be an upgraded 10.25-inch infotainment screen with voice recognition software. The Ioniq will be able to be updated with over-the-air information upgrades, and it gives you the connectivity of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and the Hyundai LIVE Services. These improvements make a difference in this vehicle to ensure you can have an Ioniq that offers everything you want to enjoy.

A Significant Powertrain Improvement

While there won’t be any changes made to the current 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and 60-horsepower electric motor layout, the powertrain has been improved to give us a great way to recapture energy. The powertrain now offers us the one-pedal driving system through regenerative braking which is similar to the Nissan Leaf’s e-Pedal system. There’s also a new “Green-Zone Drive Mode” which automatically uses more electric energy and saves fuel when specified driving scenarios are presented. You can also choose from three new colors for the Ioniq which are Fluidic Metal, Electric Shadow, and Liquid Sand.

New Became Old Quickly

What gives the Hyundai team the gall to treat the Ioniq like an older model on the market? The speed at which the technology and engineering are being improved in the automotive world certainly make it possible for Hyundai to feel and act this way. If you want to see the amazing upgrades and improvements made to this car, you need to see your nearby Hyundai dealer. Take a drive in the Ioniq and admire the new improvements that have been made to a car that’s ready to give you a more efficient drive every day.
