As the development has continued to take place for the next version of the dynamic driving and historically admired BMW 3 Series, we see a model that has prowled the roads for several years and across a few different generations as a model that can be perfect for you to have the ride you want on the road. The most recent model that was out on the roads doing some testing is the closest to what we expect as a production model so far and it will be a car that will continue to be an amazing model to drive.

The prototype that was shown gave us a look at the fact that this car is wearing the larger dual kidney grill to offer more airflow into the engine area for the drive that can be fun out on the road. This is an expected aspect of the new 3 Series and a feature that will be offered across the entire lineup of new BMW models as it begins the development of more of what we want for the drive. This new model had a bit more for us to admire when it was out for a drive.

Cold Weather Testing in a Hot Car

The car that was seen testing was doing so in the cold weather and it will be the model that will be offered on the market for the 2019 model year. The styling of the new 3 Series shows off with a tidier look and stand out items such as a sharp crease below the side windows and the two vertical creases in the hood. These appearance factors are just the beginning of what we expect to be an incredible model that will be fun to drive.

Riding on the lightweight CLAR platform, which gives you a ton of RWD qualities and is shared with the new 7 Series and 5 Series, the new 3 Series will be a bit larger than the outgoing model it replaces. This could be a bit worrisome for those who love the lightweight agility the 3 Series brings to the market. Thankfully, those concerns can be dispelled quickly as the new BMW 3 Series will offer a build that’s lighter than the current model by nearly 90 pounds. This means the new 3 Series is a vehicle that will be able to offer us more space for passengers and a drive you’ll love.

As you would expect, there will be a large number of powertrains offered including the turbocharged six-cylinder engine and some four-cylinder turbos that will give you the power and performance desired. There’s even a plug-in hybrid model on the table that might be excellent to drive along with an EV that could take a run at the Tesla Model 3. This new BMW 3 Series will be offered later this year for us to take a look at and will go on sale in the early part of next year to be what we want on the road.
