What are your concerns when it comes to autonomous driving? Are you worried that hackers will be able to enter the system and take over the driving of your car? There’s no getting around the fact that autonomous driving is on its way. The reports we’ve seen show us that the vehicles that are equipped with this technology will eventually transform from behaving like we do on the road to being able to follow closely and be more efficient in the drive than we ever could be. The Sweeping Permission Toward Safety

While the document mentioned allows for a sweeping development of the autonomous technology the fact is this is an area of driving that will have the federal government regulations and not individual state regulations. This gives the support needed to the automakers to test, develop, and drive the vehicles they are working on and trying to allow to become a reality in a hope that the models that will have autonomous technology will be safer and more active for the drive. Along the way to the level of safety expected we’re going to see a variety of ways that this technology will be developed to allow us to have a comfort level with this technology.
In addition to developing the autonomous driving we want to have in the future, automakers are also working to figure out the steps that will need to be taken in between the models we have now and the future. These different steps could mean that every vehicle offered becomes a specific level of autonomy for the driving you’ll need to accomplish while you also see the continued development take place and more fully-autonomous vehicles head out to the road.
While it’s unlikely we’ll see models on the public roads without pedals or wheels for several years, the development of smartphones has had a negative impact on driving that autonomous driving can solve. When the car can get all the driving done, we won’t have to worry about being distracted while driving any longer because we won’t be driving at all. This isn’t the only reason to have autonomous driving because the precision and speed a computer can process and make the decisions needed is much faster than what we can complete on our own. We are on the way to having safer roads, but we will have to embrace autonomous driving technology in order to make it happen.
