The 2024 Nissan Titan is the final model year for this half-ton pickup truck. Nissan recently announced production will end in the summer of 2024.
Nissan first introduced its full-size truck in 2003. The Titan has done things that other trucks haven’t, but some of those things have never caught on. The XD heavy-duty variant isn’t quite a three-quarter-ton model, but it’s bigger and stronger than a half-ton pickup. Even in the 2024 model, the Titan uses a strong V8 engine, which might say more about the direction of this truck than the lack of continued development.
Will you pick the last model, Titan, as the truck you want to drive?
What does the final model year lineup offer?
The last model year of the Titan sees it offered with fewer trim options than in previous years. Nissan trimmed down the models to nine instead of fifteen, which many RWD versions gone from the mix. A new bronze package has been added, giving this pickup black and bronze visual improvements, including bronze 20-inch wheels, a gloss-black front grille surround, a black front bumper, a sport bar, and Bronze Edition floor mats. These items give this last Titan an impressive look.
How much power does the Titan wield?
It should come as no surprise that the last version of the Nissan Titan is powered by a standard V8 engine. This engine delivers 400 horsepower and is part of most models. Although the Titan is one of the last trucks with a standard V8, the power doesn’t give you impressive capability numbers. The maximum tow rating is 9,320 pounds, while the payload is limited to 1,710 pounds. These figures could be a big part of why Nissan has sold fewer than 2,000 Titans this year. Other trucks sell at a rate of nearly 2,000 models per day.
The interior could be better
Nissan knew 2024 would be the final year for this truck. The end of a model typically means the automaker isn’t invested in making it better. The last Titian has an adequate interior, but it’s nothing to write home about. Most other pickups are much nicer and more comfortable. That said, this Nissan pickup has a functional and comfortable cabin with the right set of features. If you step up to the Platinum Reserve trim, you’ll find leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped center console, a heated steering wheel, and a Fender 12-speaker premium audio system to offer an upgraded feeling.
What makes the Nissan Titan a good choice?
Although sales figures tell Nissan to end its run of this full-size truck, there are many impressive qualities that could make it a good choice. Some of these are:
The Nissan Warranty
The Titan comes with a class-leading warranty with the bumper-to-bumper protection covering the truck for five years or 100,000 miles. This brings a strong value aspect to the Titan. No other pickup truck has such impressive warranty coverage.
An Impressive Safety Package
The standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 safety suite brings desirable features to the mix. Some of these items include forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.
An Off-Road Trim for Adventurous Souls
The PRO-4X trim is still included in the new 2024 Nissan Titan. This trim brings more than just a rugged appearance package, it’s capable of handling the trails with ease. This package includes a set of Bilstein shocks, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and an electronic rear differential, to name a few of the off-road items in this truck.
Easier Load Security
Sometimes, the tie-down cleats aren’t conveniently located in truck beds. The Titan offers the Utili-track channel system, which has aluminum-alloy cleats that slide along channels in the bed to provide the right position to secure your cargo load.
A Useful Infotainment System
The NissanConnect infotainment system is the standard system offered in the Titan. This system features an 8-inch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Higher trims receive a 9-inch screen, the Fender 12-inch audio system, and more USB ports.
What will become of the Titan production plant?
The Nissan Titan is built at the Nissan Plant in Canton, Mississippi. Once production ends, this plant will be converted under Nissan’s Ambition 2030 vision to build future Nissan EVs. This could be the central hub of EVs wearing both the Nissan and Infiniti badges going forward.
The Titan run is coming to an end, but as one door closes, a much more successful and interesting door opens. Will you drive the final 2024 model of the Nissan Titan?
