Lexus Soon to do Away with Rear Logo Badge

Lexus Soon to do Away with Rear Logo Badge

Moving into the future, Lexus will do away with the rear logo on its vehicles, but that’s not all the news we have to share.

Current and previous models from this brand have had the logo of the brand in the center of the rear, but a small change from this logo to seeing the letters L E X U S in block type across the rear could signify the big changes that are coming.

Have you ever been part of a sports team or competition, and you needed to gain an edge over the other competitors? That edge can sometimes be just a small item that gives you that little bit more than you can reach down and use to win the game, event, or performance.

This seems to be the expected feeling that will be part of what Lexus offers with this change from a rear logo badge to block lettering.

A New Direction Begins

In addition to the change in the rear brand signifier, Lexus is ready to move forward in the pursuit of an electric lineup that will be fully electric by 2030. This seems to be the date that many automakers have in mind for turning away from gasoline vehicles to have lineups that offer nothing but electric vehicles for the driving experience we want to enjoy.

Along with the new direction of electrification, this luxury brand is working toward creating more diversity in the products offered. This means there could be some vehicles that are offered in specific markets because it meets a need for that market that might not be present in another area of the world. The focus of this diversity will begin with North America, Europe, and Asia but will likely expand to other continents as well.

A Necessary Change in the Cabin

One area of the vehicle lineup for Lexus that will change and certainly needs to be changed is the infotainment system used. Currently, this brand offers us a system that uses a touchpad, not a touchscreen, which makes for some difficulty when scrolling through menus. A new touchscreen-based infotainment system will be fitted to all future vehicles to give models from this brand the type of infotainment system we want to enjoy. It will take nearly 30 months for this new system to be offered, but when it arrives, it will certainly be a welcome change.

Is Electrification Truly in the Works?

The change to Lexus models that don’t have a rear logo badge on them is one thing but moving away from the V8-powered sporty versions of the models we love is something entirely different. Right now, we have the IS500 and LC500 that both use a V8 engine for the power. These two models were only recently added to the lineup, which makes us wonder when they would become electrified. We know there are plans for another V8-powered vehicle to be added to the mix, which certainly seems to be the opposite of heading in the EV direction.

Are Any Current Lexus Models Wearing the Letters?

Two of the Lexus SUVs already wear the block lettering on the rear to give us the new look of the Lexus models without the rear logo badge. The small and active Lexus NX and the large and looming Lexus LX are the two SUVs that currently wear this new lettering across the back. Let’s take a look at what these two SUVs bring to your drive, just in case you wanted to show off the name of the brand during your drive.

Lexus NX

When you see the lineup offered for the Lexus NX, you’re going to notice this small SUV brings you a wide range of engines to give you the powertrain you want during your drive. The 2022 version of this SUV brings you the new touchscreen infotainment system, which is a welcome change in the compact crossover market. You can also use voice commands and enjoy saying “Hey Lexus” and having the system make the changes you tell it to.

From behind the wheel, you’ll find the driving comfort and quiet cabin that you’re going to experience when you take a drive. Whether you’re heading out for a ride to work or you need to use this SUV to handle your weekend adventures, the NX can take you where you want to go.

Not only do you have the new touchscreen, but you’ll also be pleased with the safety level offered that comes with the Safe Exit Assist feature and the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which is a complete package of features that gives you automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and more.

If you’re looking for a luxury compact crossover SUV, the Lexus NX can be ideal for you to have the drive you want to enjoy.

Lexus LX

Are you looking for rugged capability in the full-size luxury SUV that you drive? The Lexus LX can deliver what you’re after. This SUV is new and built on the Toyota J300 platform, which is made to be rugged, comfortable, and right for you to have the drive you want to enjoy.

Choose the LX 600, and you’ll have the off-road grand touring SUV that can literally take you everywhere you. Just because the road continues with lined markers doesn’t mean you have to stay between the lines. Just like your childhood coloring book, it’s time to see what happens when you head outside the lines for a while.

This big SUV not only brings you the removal of the Lexus rear logo badge, but it has a touchscreen infotainment screen, making it easy for you to enjoy the connectivity offered during your time out on the road. In addition to the new items we’ve been talking about, the Lexus LX has Active Height Control, which adjusts the air suspension to the drive you want to make. Let this big luxury SUV be the perfect off-road companion for your driving adventures.
