Let’s Talk about the new Toyota Supra

The long wait is over and the Toyota Supra will once again be part of the market for the 2020 model year and it could be a seriously fast car.

This amazing sports car will be a lot of fun to drive and it is claimed to be able to make its way around the Nurburgring in 7:50 or potentially 7:40 even if the top speed limiter isn’t removed. Right now, that speed limiter is set at 155 mph and if this car were able to pull off this lap it would be a serious achievement for a car with 335 horsepower under the hood. With the 7:40 lap time in mind, let’s look at cars that would be faster and slower than the Supra.

Faster Cars aroundthe Nurburgring

Porsche Panamera Turbo

The only sedan offered by Porsche is the Panamera Turbo and it was able to make its way around the Nurburgring 12.9-mile track in7:38. This was a fast time for this big and luxurious car that makes it a record holder for four-door models when it made its time and created the record time for this amazing car.

Lexus LFA

The supercar before the Supra was the Lexus LFA from the Toyota family and this impressive model was able to finish the lap with two times that were both below the 7:40 mark. The LFA reached 7:38 during one tease and the Nurburgringversion of the LFA was able to best this time with a run that ended at 7:14.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

Here’s another impressive and powerful sedan that brings you the supercar performance that you want to experience and enjoy. This Alfa Romeo sedan was able to finish the job in 7:32 which is now the record for four-door cars at this track. There would need to be a lot more power in the Supra to best this version of the Giulia.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

This version of the Camaro isthe most powerful and dynamic track-ready car that can offer you the fun you’re looking for when you want to enjoy a lot of fun on the track. This impressive model was able to set a lap time of 7:29 to make it one of the fastest cars that ever made it way around this track.

BMW M4 GTS

A seriously fast BMW model is this M4 GTS which has a similar power layout to the Supra. This car is light, has a set of sticky tires, and a massive rear wing on the back to give it the track-ready equipment you want when you rip off a fast lap. This car was able to get around the Nurburgring track in 7:27.88 to make it an extremely fast model to drive.

Slower than the Toyota Supra around Nurburgring

BMW M2 Competition

If the claims are true, the Supra would be able tofinish the lap faster than the M2 Competition model from BMW. This car is certainly one that’s a lot of fun to drive, but it completed the lay in 7:52.336, which is certainly slower than what we can expect the Supra to be if it evermakes the lap at the ‘Ring.

Ferrari 599 GTB

Do you expect Toyota to have a production car that’s faster than any Ferrari? If not, this comparison should surprise you a bit as the 599 GTB from Ferrari was able to finish the lap around Nurburgring in 7:47 which would be seven seconds slower than what we expect to see the Supra be able to accomplish.

Porsche 71 8 Cayman S

Here’s a car that might not surprise you too much. The 718 Cayman S is powered by a four-cylinder engine, which means it has fewer cylinders than the Supra. Even so, the Porsche was only able to finish the lap in 7:46.7 which is slower than what we expect from the new Toyota supercar that we’re going to love to drive.

Honda Civic Type R

This model shouldn’t come as any surprise to youat all considering it’s an FWD model. Even though the Civic Type R is the record holder for this type of car, and it was able to complete the lap in 7:43.8 which would be slower than what the Supra should be able to accomplish. This is a car you expect the Supra to beat every time.

Porsche Cayman GT4

This is a car that could be a good competitor for the Supra and the finish would be close. The Cayman GT4 was able to set a lap time of 7:42, which would only be two seconds slower than the Supra time that we expect if it headsto the track. This would make the Supra faster than at least two Porsche models.
