Porsche is Showing Off Some Serious Gold

Every year, we see a variety of automakers offer us some of their special models that have been built to give us the style and look that invokes the imagination. Porsche, one of the most respected brands in the automotive industry, is prepared to show off with some gold. Gold is the color and the metal that we associate with quality and value, and Porsche is ready to make use of this color to let us have an amazing new model to take a look at later this year as one that’s been built to pique our imagination.

The New Porsche ‘Project Gold’ Restomod

Porsche began work on the new Project Gold car eighteen months ago and is finally completing the task of putting this car together. This process began with the original body shell being put through the corrosion protection and painting process. Once that’ was completed, the technicians got to work adding the 3.6-liter engine and the powertrain items that are needed to make this car run. After this part of the process was completed, the exterior and interior details were handled and the car was finished to prepare for us to see what Porsche has done.

What is the ‘Project Gold’ Car

This new car is a restomod 993 9111 Turbo that’s inspired by the 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. This car is expected to make its way to the Porsche Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca on September 27. This car will wear the same Golden Yellow Metallic color as the Turbo S Exclusive Series, and it features black wheels with Golden Yellow accents. The interior of the car is finished in a matching black shade with Golden Yellow contrasting details to make this a car that has the color theme ready for our viewing.

The Power for the Ride

This new Porsche could very well be the one that a racer could drive to win a gold medal with its new 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat six-cylinder engine. This engine is able to make 450 horsepower and this power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission to give this car an amazing drive. The transmission and AWD system was sourced from the Porsche Classic range of parts and are offered to those who own classic Porsche models to make it possible to more easily restore and renew the cars.

Porsche is Showing a Heart of Gold

After the ‘Project Gold’ car is put on display in late September, it will make its way to the upcoming 70th Anniversary auction at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta. This car will be auctioned off on October 27th and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Ferry Porsche Foundation. This foundation is a non-profit organization that works to support projects in connection with education and social issues and helps the development of youth in the area. This car should certainly fetch a high price that will then be donated to the organization for the benefit of those who the organization supports.
