Attention-Grabbing Concepts from 2017

Every year we see automakers push the envelope and make it possible for us to see the concepts and ideas they think we may enjoy in the future. Whether it means we accept a brand new styling language or a more aggressive small car, there is always something exciting about seeing what automakers have chosen to present us with to gauge our excitement regarding cars that have been designed as an idea that may or may not make it to the production line. Here are ten of the concepts we saw that were certainly some of the best shown off this year.

MINI John Cooper Works GP Concept –This is the car that came from the company committed to small cars that shows off the excitement and the fun you want in a car that’s panted to the track when you take it there. This car sits wider and uses plenty of carbon fiber in order to shed the weight needed to give us a lighter and more aggressive feeling when it’s time to drive.

Toyota FT-4X Concept –Here is a concept model we certainly hope and desire to see in the future of the Toyota lineup. This vehicle makes use of the Toyota New Global Architecture and helps bring the brand to the Generation Y city dwellers who what an off-road SUV that fits on the small areas in the city. This impressive model is we want to see as the next dynamic SUV.

Volkswagen I. D. Buzz Concept –This is the answer to what Volkswagen has been dealing with over the past couple years and it makes driving better for you. This is the regeneration of the MIcroBus from the 1960s and 1970s that were popular with the VW badge on the front of the face. We’ll see this vehicle in production in the near future, which brings back a cool ride.

BMW Concept 8 Series –BMW is looking to the higher ends of the luxury vehicle line to give us more of what we want at the top of the market. This new concept is a stunning vehicle that modernizes the design language and allows us to have the style we want for the ride. This beauty showed up with a long hood and sultry curves while only hinting at typical BMW style.

Mercedes-AMG GT Concept –Growing the four-door coupe segment is important to Mercedes-Benz and using the AMG team to upgrade this car makes it an incredible model that will be filled with performance features and qualities. This was certainly one of the most attractive concept models to make it to any show, reminding us that Mercedes-Benz knows a lot about car style.

Kia Proceed Concept –While we haven’t seen the wagon and shooting brake models catch on in the US, they are still extremely popular in every other market around the world. This concept shows off a long wagon version of the Stinger that just might change those thoughts in the US and allow us to begin to see the benefit of the powerful and sporty wagon of today.

BMW Concept Z4 –In a joint effort between BMW and Toyota, this concept came to life as the stunning roadster that we expect to share some of the beauty and designs with the Supra that will arrive from Toyota in the near future as well. This could be a car that can offer you the ride and the performance you want when it finally arrives in its new production model.

Mazda Vision Coupe Concept –Here is an amazing model that showed up later in the year to give us an idea of the sleek design and impressive look we want to have for the ride on the roads in the future. This long, sleek, and stylish concept model is one that brings you the look and feel desired, hopefully, it will also be one that carries forward with the power we love. (Looking for a slightly different Mazda? Opt for the sporty and speedy Mazda6!)

Infiniti Prototype 9 –If you love to see older models reborn in new concepts, the Prototype 9 is certainly one on that could capture your attention. This retro-styled car looks like it belongs in the races of the early days on the market, but has the power of an electric motor that’s similar to what we find in the new Nissan Leaf, making it a marriage of old and new.

Honda Urban and Sports EV Concepts –This pair of concepts gives us a look and idea of what this brand is working toward for the ride needed in the future of driving. These two models made their way to the shows to give us the EV appearance we expect to offer some aspects of driving in the future. One showed up with a throwback and classic style while the other is sporty and quick.
